21. Il-Festa @ Our Centre.

20. A delegation from Japan visited our Centre.

On the 11th June 2019, a delegation from Japan led by H.E. Andre Spiteri Ambassador of Malta to Japan visited our Centre. This delegation also included Ms. Namboku, a representive of the board of directors of General Incorporated Association Inclusion Japan as well as other members from this association.

A collaboration between the school and the association was established during this meeting. Some of our students’ art will be traveling to Japan in order to partake in the Inclusion Festival Setagaya Art Exhibition happening in Tokyo on 1st September 2019. This festival aims to celebrate the students’ abilities and strengths.

The delegation also got the chance to experience our resources in the multisensory room.	They were very intrigued by the Integrex SENse.	In the ICT Lab, the delegation was also very interested about the use of Sphero SPRK+ in our school.

19. 27/05/2019 - Celebrating Indian Day @ Our Centre.

16. Mr Marco Ortica visit to our school.

On Tuesday, 7th May, Marco Ortica, from The Brain Foundation NGO, visited our school to get to know our students and discuss preparation for the rugby station in the All in Sports Festival. This was discussed with the PE teacher Mr David, Servicing Teacher, Ms Luana and the school assistant head Mr Steve. The All in Sports Festival will to be held at our Centre on the 23rd May.

15. 30th April - Fun Day @ Qrendi Football Ground.

14. 12th April - Our Lady of Sorrows Mass @ Qrendi Parish Church.

13. Outing: Visiting The National Stadium.

On 2nd March, students from our centre visited the National Stadium at Ta' Qali. The Malta Football Association (MFA) organised an exciting tour for our students to the National Stadium. It was filled with thrilled experiences for our students, which we would like to share in pictures.

When we arrived we found Mr Peter Busuttil, (the project coordinator for MFA Football Social Responsibility), two of Malta National Football Team Players, Rowen Muscat and Paul Fenech and Ray Farrugia, the Head Coach for the Malta National Football team waiting for us. They greeted us and we introduced ourselves.

12. Outing: Watching the Musical, L-Eżodu.

On the 28th of March, students from our centre visited St. Benedict’s College Secondary School to watch a musical named L-Eżodu, a theatrical performance about the Israelites escaping from Egypt.

Giuseppe, Klajdi, Francesco, Mayren, Manuel and Tim found their designated place in the hall.


The stage looks fantastic.	Everybody is waiting for the show to begin.	The excitement is building up.

11. 2nd Term Fun Day

Our 2nd Term Fun Day was organised on the 14th March, 2019. All games were prepared by Mr. David Carabott, our school PE teacher.

10. Award: Nirriċikla Għall-Istrina campaign.

On the 6th of March, our students were invited to San Anton Palace in order to collect a trophy for collecting the second largest amount of caps per student in 2018. We collected 514,167 plastic top caps adding up to 1542.5 Kgs in weight.

Moreover, the students had the opportunity to visit one of the gardens in the palace and enjoy the peaceful tranquillity of this garden.


Tim loved listening to the birds singing in the trees.	Zack loved it too.	Klajdi's smile says it all.

One of the gardner gave some information about the ducks to Francesco.	They were so kind. He tried to call out one of the ducks so that it will go near Zack.	Klajdi shouted for the duck too.

Then it was time to go back to the hall and wait for her Excellency, Ms Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, President of Malta and Hon. José Herrera, Minister for Sustainable Development, Environment and Climate Change.

8. Heritage Outing: St Elmo War Museum.

These are some of the photos taken from the heritage outing to St. Elmo War Museum. Two classes have already visited St Elmo’s museum and the remaining two will pay a visit next week. Students had various activities related to World War 2. This outing was organised in collaboration with Mr Rosario Mizzi from the Speech and Language Department and Heritage Malta.

7. Christmas Mass

On the 17th December, our centre in collaboration with Qrendi Primary School and the Qrendi Parish organised the Christmas Mass. The Christmas mass was celebrated by Father Glen, the Parish Priest.

6. Christmas Concert.

On the 12th December, our centre organised the yearly Christmas Concert. The concert had three main events. The concert started off with the tradition procession of baby Jesus. Parents were invited to join in this activity and walk together to the school hall while singing tradition Maltese Christmas.

The event finished off in the hall with Ms Elise sang "a Natale Poui". She was accompanied by the music teacher, who played the piano. The students gave all invited person a tocken, a guardian angel with an inspired quote. After the speech, there was the wheelchair dancing.

Followed was the food donation presentation, which the centre collected from students and staff to the Food Bank Lifeline foundation.

During this concert, a video was prepared showing our students' abilities while using the school resources.

Another prepared activity was the nativity scene where students recreated the scene of Jesus' Birth. They recited along the song 'The First Noel'.

The centre would like to take this opportunity to thank Peter Paul, Tribali, who on a yearly basis visits our centre during the Christmas Concert to cheer up the students with his music.

5. A potting activity of endemic trees

28th November, 2018: A potting activity of endemic trees, such as "Gharghar" and "Fraxnu". This activity was possible thanks to the collaboration with the Directorate for Parks, Afforestation and Countryside Restoration – P.A.R.K within Ministry for the Environment, Sustainable Development and Climate Change (MESDC).

4. Ziguzajg festival - ‘Barra bid-Daqq’

On the 23rd November , Helen Keller Resource Centre hosted the Ziguzajg festival, the ‘Barra bid-Daqq’ show. This show was presented by the Perkuss'hawn Maracatu and KażinSka. Students played instruments, some of which were made by themselves, during school lessons. The main instruments used were a wooden drum (alfaia), percussion instruments agbê and gonguê. Students from the primary school were also invited to this event. Our centre would like to take this opportunity to thank all persons involved in the Spazju Kreattiv for their support.

3. Visit to our centre from Hon. Julia Farrugia Portelli.

15th November, 2018: On the initiative of the Qrendi Local Council through the Mayor David Schembri, the Centre was honoured with a visit by the Parliamentary Secretary for Reforms, Citizenship and Simplification of Administrative Processes, Hon. Julia Farrugia Portelli. Present for the occasion was St. Benedict's College Principal, Mr. Paul Debono.

2. October Fun Day Activity

The fun day was held on the 23rd October. It was organised by Mr David Carabott, the school PE teacher. The fun day consisted of various activities mainly the march past, warming up and four main games.
